Individual Therapy

Finding an therapist can be a daunting task. It’s my goal to make sure you feel at ease during this process. During our first session, we’ll spend some time discussing your history, interests, strengths and challenges. In subsequent sessions we will do work that feels right for you. We may engage in talk therapy, art, drama therapy techniques, or mildfulness-based work. I am also trained in brainspotting. Individual sessions last 50 minutes and I typically see clients once per week at the beginning. After some time, sessions may be moved to a bi-weekly, monthly, or as-needed schedule depending on your needs.

Parent Coaching

Parenting is VERY HARD. (As a parent of two children, I get it.) These days, expectations on parents are at an all-time high, while supports are at an all-time low. Keeping peace in our homes is constantly challenged by competing priorities, intense feelings, and conflict. In our parent coaching sessions, we will work to make sense of challenging behaviors, improve your relationship with your child(ren), and work toward connection and cooperation at home.

Drama Therapy Groups: Playspace

I offer drama therapy groups targeting social skills/connection and emotional regulation (i.e. anxiety management, self expression) for kids and adolescents through Playspace: Drama Therapy Atlanta. These groups typically take place in 8-10 week series during the schoolyear and/or over the summer.

Supervision

As an LCSW and Board Certified Trainer (RDT-BCT) by the North America Drama Therapy Association (NADTA), I provide supervision to those working toward credentialing in Drama Therapy (RDT). I also provide supervision to individuals pursing a clinical licensure in social work (LCSW) in the state of Georgia. Please reach out via email or phone to discuss scheduling and rates.

TRAINING

In addition to teaching drama therapy courses at Emory University, I also offer drama therapy training to those who are interested in learning more about creative arts therapies and using techniques in their own therapeutic practice. Some trainees are pursuing their RDT (Registered Drama Therapist ) credential while others are seeking continuing education for other mental health licensure. Contact me if you have any questions.
