What is Drama therapy?

Drama therapy is the intentional use of dramatic play to achieve therapeutic goals. It involves movement and imagination. It is a creative outlet as well as a therapeutic process, and allows participants to connect with themselves and others through the joy of play.

Drama therapy helps with processing and tolerating difficult feelings, improving social awareness, and increasing self-confidence. It helps to create a balance between thinking and feeling.

What is your fee?

Rates depend on the kind of service I am providing. Individual therapy sessions are typically charged at the rate of $175/hour. I do offer a sliding scale for some clients (let’s chat). Supervision and training rates vary depending on level of service provided. Currently I am not in-network for any insurance, but I can provide a superbill for those with out-of-network benefits.

As a Board Certified Trainer (BCT) by the North America Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) I can provide clinical supervision to individuals pursuing credentialing in Drama Therapy (RDT). I can also provide supervision to individuals pursing clinical licensure in social work (LCSW) in the state of Georgia.

What training do you offer?

I currently teach creative arts therapy courses at Emory University. I also offer training to students or therapists pursuing their RDT (Registered Drama Therapist ) credential, or others who are seeking continuing education for mental health licensure.
